Besides the ‘MENU’ button on the front of the Oracle®, there is also an Advanced Features menu. These should only be accessed by experienced users or as a one time adjustment if needed.

To access the Advanced Features menu, the machine must be turned off, but still plugged in. Press and hold the ’1CUP’ button. While holding that button, press the ‘POWER’ button and hold them together for at least 3 seconds. To select a function, rotate the ‘SELECT’ dial to the desired feature then press the ‘SELECT’ button. To exit the menu at any time, press the ‘MENU’ button. If no input is received for 30 seconds, the machine will automatically exit the Advanced Features.


  • ‘MANUAL’ on the Steam LCD – Upon first turning the machine on, while it is still heating, if the steam dial is in the ‘MANUAL’ position, the machine will not reach operating temperature and the SELECT dial will not be illuminated. Lower the steam lever to the center ‘OFF’ position and the temperature will increase until operating temperature is reached and the SELECT dial surround will illuminate.
  • Fill Tank – The message ‘FILL TANK’ will appear on the bottom left hand side of the main LCD screen when the machine detects a lower water level in the water tank.
  • Clean Me! – This message on the center left hand side of the main LCD screen indicated that approximately 200 shots/extractions have been carried out since the last cleaning cycle.
  • Heating – The ‘HEATING’ message will flash on the very top left hand corner of the main LCD screen when the machine is heating up to operating temperature.
  • Lock Hopper – This message indicated that the bean hopper has not been properly inserted and locked into position.
  • Overheat Please Wait – This message will appear on the grinder LCD when the integrated burr grinder has been used excessively and needs time to cool.
  • Change Filter – This message will appear on the main LCD screen indicating that it is time to change the water filter in the water tank.

Advanced Features

  • Reset Default Settings (rSEt) – Resets the machine to the factory defaults: 1. Shot Temperature – 200°F; 2. Low Pressure Pre-Infusion – Power 60, Seconds 7; 3. Milk Temperature – 150°F; 4. Auto Start – OFF (8:00 AM); 5. Auto Off – 1 hour; 6. Clock: 12:00AM; 7. 1 CUP Button Shot Duration – 20 Seconds; 8. 2 CUP Button Shot Duration – 30 Seconds.
  • Descale (dESc) – Select this feature to access the step-by-step, on-screen instructions for descaling the Oracle®.
  • Water Hardness (Hrd3) – Program the water hardness through this feature which will determine the regularity of the ‘CHANGE FILTER’ LCD screen alert which indicated when the water filter in the water tank needs to be replaced.
  • Units (SEt) – Set the units of measurement to metric or imperial.
  • LCD Back light (Led) – Adjust the LCD brightness. This adjusts all three LCD’s at once to the same brightness.
  • Spotlights (SPOt) – Adjusts the brightness of the work space spotlights that shine from under the group head area onto the drip tray.
  • Steam Temperature (StEA) – Adjusts the steam boiler temperature which directly affect the pressure of the steam. The default temperature setting is 275°F. This temperature can be adjusted down to 265°F or up to 285°F.
  • Air Pump Delay (Air) – This delays the operation of the air pump during automatic milk texturing. The default time is 2 seconds. This can be adjusted down to 0 seconds or up to 6 seconds.
  • Sound (Snd) – This feature allows the adjustment of the audible alerts that come from the machine from off (OFF) to low (Lo) to high (Hi).
  • Fan Control (FAn) – This feature allows the adjustment to the speed of the internal cooling fan from silent (SILt) to standard (StNd) to cool (CooL).
  • Disable Clean Me! Alert (Cln) – This allows the disable of the LCD on screen Clean Me! alert.
  • 12h or 24h Clock (CLoC) – Allows the adjustment of the clock to read in a 12h format (1:00 (am) – 3:00 (pm)) or a 24 hour format (1:00 (am) – 15:00 (pm)).
  • Flow Measurement Method (VoL) – Allows the adjustment of the 1 CUP and 2 CUP buttons from measuring the extractions based on time to a measurement based on the volume of water that flows out of the machine.
