The Boss™ Troubleshooting

Overload Protection has been engaged.

If there is to heavy of a load on the motor of the BBL910XL, the OVERLOAD PROTECTION will kick in. The LCD will be flashing with OVERLOAD PROTECTION on it and the blender will not operate

To Reset

  • Press the ON/OFF button to turn the blender off.
  • Unplug the blender from the wall outlet.
  • Leave the blender unplugged for approximately 5 minutes then plug back in.
  • If the LCD is now clean, processing can begin again.
  • If the OVERLOAD PROTECTION is still flashing on the LCD screen even after being unplugged for 5 minutes, unplug the blender again and this time leave it unplugged for 30 minutes.
  • When the message is cleared, ensure that you remove about ¼ to ½ of the food and blend in smaller batches.

Possible Causes

  • When blending a large amount of food items, the motor can become overloaded, slowing the blades and stressing the motor. If the motor sounds stressed or is louder then normal or you notice that the blending is taking longer then anticipated, remove part of the food and process in smaller batches.
  • When making soups or smoothies, the mixture will thicken as it is processed. This can cause stress on the motor. Again, remove part of the food and process in smaller batches.

The motor won’t start.

There can be a few reasons that the motor won’t start or the blades won’t rotate when trying to use your blender.

  • If the lids are not securely locked into place, the motor will not start. Simply seat the outer lid onto the top of the blender jug and lock the inner lid into place.
  • If a selection is not fully and firmly pressed and registers on the LCD screen, the blades will not rotate. Press the function you want to select and verify on the LCD screen that a function has been chosen.
  • If the plug has come partially out of the wall outlet and is not fully and securely seated in the outlet, the motor will not start. Simply re-seat the plug into the outlet.
  • If the OVERLOAD PROTECTION has been engaged, the blender will not operate. Please see the Overload Protection has been engaged post in the Troubleshooting section for the BBL910XL
