Stubborn Stains and Smells

The blender jug resists most stains and smells. However, these can still linger. We suggest filling the blender jar with warm soapy water and about 4 tablespoons of lemon juice, placing the lid on top and running a blending cycle for about 30 seconds. Once complete, let this sit in the jug for an hour or two then empty the mixture out. Fill the jug with fresh clean water and run another blending cycle for another 30 seconds. Also remember, the jug can be washed on the bottom shelf of a dishwasher during a standard wash cycle and the lids can be washed on the top shelf of a dishwasher using a standard wash cycle.

The blades will not rotate.

If you find that the blade on your blender will not turn and the motor will not engage, though there is power to the blender, there are a few reasons this could be happening:

  • Ensure that the blender jug is securely locked into position and the lids are on tightly. The jug being loose means that the blade will not turn. This is a safety feature.
  • Make sure that the blade assembly is correctly and securely attached to the bottom of the blender jug. If it is not screwed in completely, the jug will not sit on the base correctly which will prevent the blades from turning. Again, this is a safety feature.
  • Check the power button and selected function or speed are illuminated. If they are not, push on the correct buttons firmly.
  • Ensure that the power plug is securely inserted into a 110/120 volt outlet. If the plug is loose or the voltage is incorrect, this will prevent the blender from working correctly.
  • Make sure to only press one speed or function button at a time.

The Blender will not turn on.

There can be a few reasons why the Hemisphere® Control Blender may not blend:

  • Check the outlet – If there are too many appliances on an outlet or if there is too much draw on the electrical supply to that outlet, it may be that it’s tripped the associated circuit breaker or the outlet itself may be bad. Move the blender to an outlet on a different circuit and see if it shows power once plugged in there.
  • Overload Protection – The blender will automatically shut itself off if it senses that the load on the motor is too great. This is done to protect the motor from any damage occurring to it or the gears. If this happens, usually while blending, unplug the blender and allow it to sit for 15 to 30 minutes to cool down. Remove part of the blender jug contents to lessen the load. After the time has passed, plug the blender back in and resume the blending cycle.
